Varsity Hockey Players of the Month - November

Varsity Boys Offensive Player: Oliver Plante
The forward from Ottawa, Ontario had an excellent month. Oliver brought timely scoring and grit to the Spartans lineup. As the team begins their New England Prep heavy schedule, Oliver's ability to coerce bigger and older players into taking penalties and then making them pay with the puck in the back of their net is a huge asset to the Stanstead attack. In CSSHL play, Oliver had four points in two November games, highlighted by a three-assist effort at the Pat Burns Arena and the overtime winner over Ontario Hockey Academy with friends and family in attendance.

Varsity Boys Defensive Player: Malik L'Italien
The QMJHL draft-eligible defenceman had a solid November as he anchored the Spartan blueline through a highly competitive portion of the team's season. The smooth skater consistently made an impact at both ends of the ice through his high-level vision and decision making. This was reinforced when Malik was named to the All-Showcase Team at the Stanstead College Invitational Showcase along with teammate Kamyl Chemrouk. This selection was based on the feedback of the showcase director, opposition coaches and scouts in attendance. Malik looks to continue his strong play in the month of December.

Varsity Girls Offensive Player: Rosalie Tremblay
After returning from a successful campaign captaining Team Quebec to the finals at Nationals, Rosalie picked up right where she left off in the Spartans offence. The forward from Sherbrooke, Quebec is always a threat to score regardless of where she is on the ice. Typically matched up against the opposing team's best players, Rosalie is still able to excel offensively through her high skill package and excellent hockey IQ. Primarily playing with her sister Maxim, their chemistry is unmatched, and it is extremely rare to find a Tremblay goal without the other Tremblay getting an assist. Rosalie is able to completely change the outlook of a game, and she looks forward to doing so in December.

Varsity Girls Defensive Player: Isa MacPhee
After returning from her stint with Team Atlantic at Nationals, Isa resumed her strong defensive play on the Spartan blueline. Her elite hockey IQ allows her to take in and process information to make smart decisions with and without the puck. Primarily playing with October Defensive Player of the Month Florence Blanchette, the two were able to thwart the opposition's attack by moving the puck efficiently to disrupt their forecheck and by making strong reads to create turnovers and transition the puck quickly. Isa is counted on to play in all situations and is notably valuable on the penalty kill as she possesses a smart stick and a willingness to block shots.
