This past week the prep boys hockey team played their semi-final series vs College St-Anne. Friday night the team were in a 2-2 tie before this first-year Grade 10 student from Turku, Finland sniped the game winner and then added an empty netter for a 4-2 win.
Two days later, the Spartans lost game # 2 of the series 2-5 to set the stage for the third and final game of the series. This would be a 10-minute mini-match in front of what seemed to be well over 300 noisy and supportive home fans.
In dramatic fashion, a penalty shot was called with 3 min and 29 seconds remaining in the game.
“Who wants to take the shot, fellas ?”
“Me, Coach, I want it.”
“You sure?”
“Yes, Coach.”
“Go finish this, kid.”
With the game winner in overtime on a penalty shot, his 4th goal of the series, and second consecutive game-winning goal, Adam Larsson is our Athlete of the Week.
